Anúna

Anúna is a vocal ensemble that was founded in 1987 by Dublin-based composer, Michael McGlynn.  I joined the group in March 2012 and endured my first performance a matter of weeks later in Hammond's "Requiem for the Lost Souls of the Titanic" in St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast to commemorate the centenary of the sinking of HMS Titanic.

Since then, I have sung in various castles and estates throughout Ireland. I have toured China, Belgium, Netherlands, and Canada. There have been many memorable moments, but singing in the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (November 2012) was a particular highlight.

Anúna's 2014-15 winter tour will involve a recording session for our new album followed by two weeks in Japan. Then, we will spend a fortnight playing several venues in Belgium and the Netherlands leading up to Christmas. In January and February 2015, the group will be travelling to Russia and to the United States for different engagements.

You can keep abreast of the ensemble's activities here.
